THE CHALLENGE

Monitoring and managing seismographs in dams is a critical and challenging process. It involves not only collecting complex data, but also the need for quick and remote access to accurate information, especially in situations where safety is at stake.

At Sequência Engenharia, we faced important challenges that affected the efficiency and reliability of the system, impacting the user experience and, above all, the quality of monitoring.

Complex information management

Monitoring dam safety and controlling multiple seismographs simultaneously is a process that generates an enormous amount of complex data. Organizing, understanding and accessing this information practically was a major challenge for professionals.

Accessibility and remote monitoring

The need for efficient remote monitoring is crucial, but the previous interface made quick and intuitive access to device data difficult. Engineers had difficulty viewing device status and vibration history in real time from wherever they were, hindering agile decision-making.

Inefficient communication process with devices

Communication with seismographs via FTP was far from optimized, with delays in data transfer and, in some cases, lack of reliability. This created a frustrating experience, especially in critical situations where accurate and fast information is essential to ensure safety.

What was done?

We implemented a series of improvements at Sequência Engenharia to ensure a more complete and efficient experience in monitoring seismographs in dams. The visual interface was modernized, providing an intuitive design that facilitates quick access to device status and vibration level history, whether in the office or in the field. In addition, we improved FTP communication between the system and the seismographs, making data transfer faster and more reliable.

React was used to develop the user interface, ensuring a fluid, responsive and interactive experience. With its component-based approach, we were able to create modular and dynamic screens, allowing engineers to access critical information, such as seismograph status and vibration history, in a practical and visually intuitive way, on both desktop and mobile devices.
